Welcome!

Join us for an unforgettable show on Monday, June 17th, 2024New Amsterdam Theatre, NYC

We're Moving!

This year's performance will be held at a brand new Broadway location: the glamorous and historic New Amsterdam Theatre on 42nd Street!

The New Amsterdam Theatre opened in 1903 and is the oldest operating Broadway Theatre. Leased by the Walt Disney Company in 1993, the theatre was fully restored and reopened in 1997. Arts for Autism has been warmly welcomed by Disney, and we're so excited to be able to perform on the same stage as ALADDIN!

Keynote Speaker: Liz Pritchard

Liz Pritchard is a neurodiverse artist, advocate, teacher, author, presenter and mentor whose advocacy has taken her to Taiwan, the Philippines, Mexico and Canada. Pritchard is the creator of an original comic book series titled PaperBag Comic, a series of short stories about learning to love all of oneself in spite of flaws. Pritchard has self-published over seven hundred pages of this series so far, which is still ongoing.

Pritchard advocates for autism and mental health conditions through her artwork and in various other ways. She serves as an Ambassador for the Autism Council of Rochester, and has been featured in City Magazine as one of Rochester’s 10. She has been interviewed on ROC Voices Radio on the topic of recovery from addiction, advocated for autism acceptance on Spectrum News, and most recently was featured on WXXI’s Dialogue on Disability and NPR about finding opportunity as an artist in the midst of a global pandemic.

It was through Pritchard’s mentor, Alec Frazier (who passed away in February 2021), that she was introduced to the Lights! Camera! Access! (LCA) network, where she learned how to network and build strong, meaningful connections. Pritchard is currently an LCA Flash Mentor and runs a studio workshop for LCA cohorts. Through LCA, Pritchard was hired as the Post Production Supervisor and Video Editor for the ADA30 Lead On: Celebration of Disability Arts, Culture, Education and Pride Production and the NDEAM (National Disability Employment Awareness Month) Production of 2020.

Pritchard’s interest in film also lead her to create and submit several of her own films for the Easterseals Disability Film Challenge. In 2020 Pritchard worked with Anna Pakman to create a documentary series titled “My Superpower”. She was an editor for the 2021 film “Social Fitness” and was both creator and producer of the 2023 film “Spawn Point: My GPS Will Fail”.

Pritchard believes that everyone deserves a chance, regardless of labels. She works to unmask society by breaking down barriers brought on by misconceptions and stereotypes that revolve around neurodiversity, mental health and addiction.

About Us

Arts for Autism is a one night annual Broadway benefit concert where the biggest names on Broadway join performing arts students from around the country at a premier New York City theatre venue. Together we perform, spread acceptance, and inspire compassion, kindness, and understanding for those impacted by autism. We hope you'll join us for this evening celebrating hope and new beginnings as we look forward to a brighter future for all.

Who Does the Concert Benefit?

We're passionate about the arts and how they can positively impact everyone, which is why each year funds raised from the Arts For Autism benefit concert will be distributed in the form of grants between $1,000 and $5,000. We have established the Arts & Community Access Grant, which can be used for any project (including arts-related) that has a direct and positive impact on the lives of individuals on the autism spectrum and their families. We will grant as many as possible until funds raised are exhausted. Grants are available for any U.S. based organization or individual and people on the autism spectrum are encouraged to apply. Funds granted must be used within twelve months of being awarded.

Our newly established advisory board will oversee the granting of funds raised at the Arts For Autism benefit concert. The board was formed in 2022 in response to community feedback about where money raised is being donated. We are excited to see where they decide to make an impact to support the autism community this year and beyond! Check our site later this summer for updates.

"This event to me is special because it shows that there isn't one way to tell a story. The power of song. The power of dance. It has a farther reach than just entertainment. We can do something. We can do something really important."
